Easter Sunday surf, well I did not get up for the dawn patrol, tides were not so good for the tiny swell and I worked 8 hours at the mall, so kind of tired. But there was a window of surf on the falling tide and I wanted to be out in the water at noon. As it is a warm day here in Virginia, the jetty area was going to be packed with beach goers and difficult parking as pay parking started today. It was packed as I got to the beach zone but hoped for a spot to park, i came around the curve and there it was my regular dawn parking spot just waiting for me! Stoked! Pulled in and suited up, real fun tiny waves for a couple of hours, and no one out while it was best, a couple of kooks came out when it got super tiny with the lower tide. A nice Sunday air about 75' and water about 48'

Wind was on it and a bit wonky but my first day in a “glider” was a blast thing connects and gets into waves effortlessly super happy and excited to get it in some good surf

After almost 2 months out of the water, I took some time off last Friday as the report looked good. 3-4' with on shores early but switching to offshore around noon. Thought I would get down around 1 for the clean up. Not. Mother Nature had other plans and the winds did not switch to OS until much later so I killed the plan. Tried DP on Saturday hoping to get a few leftovers and got it small but fun. Early was the play with waist high peelers and occ chest high sets. Water still at 41 but the air warmed up and the clear skies added to a good day. Traded waves with SG and two others.

    OC Bridge at sunup.
