On the doppler and swell maps the epicenter of this storm was Black, and it was putting out 50ft@17secs. That's nuts.
If there hadn't been so much West in it this would have been easily on the record books. Thanks for those photos Dave and Knots.
That OCMD is Thick and rad but the nod goes to that NH barrel. Perfect.

The cams looked interesting so I drove over the bridge to the beach. The bay is frozen up. Stopped at a break where for the last couple of years lefts have been peeling off this jetty and the word spread further and further. We now have almost 20 blocks of new sand pumped in over a little more than 60 days. Instead of climbing down a 6 foot sand bank to get to the water, you walk 75 yards to get to wet sand and see only a few exposed rocks at the end of the jetty. Extreme cold air and 29 degree water made a shoreline that's unique. There's even a submerged ice reef now and hazards in the shorebreak! Flat but we'll see about the future.

Beach replenishment is a feat of engineering. I believe strongly that is is very necessary to the survival of man NJ beach towns. Can have + or - effects on the bresks.

"Wasted"??? Really? I'll assume you are using satire to point out what a great ride that guy is getting in winter storm surf.
