Anyone know the bloke who makes Gunn Surfboards out of Asbury Park? I have a girlfriend who shares the last name and would be stoked out of her mind to ride one if they are remotely decent shapes...

Get in touch with Phil @ glide in asbury park. Or forum member dknj may be able to assist. I've seen ig photos of these boards. They look fantastic.

His name is Drew Saklas, he lives in wannamassa and shapes and glasses out of his house. He has been making boards for a long time, we actually used to buy blanks together back when Brian from green light had his shop in a warehouse in Philly. He has made some boards for me over the past few years, a high performance longboard, a small sup, but he really shines on retro shape twin fins and singles. Just pm him on instagram and he'll get back to you. He is a super laid back guy who works with you on what your looking for, and his glassing skills are fast approaching professional levels.

So longboards are a staple for him? It's good to know more local guys are starting to produce. Cosmic Bull left a void when they stopped producing even though I think Tom Eadon is shaping under dome name now.

Drew is a super talented local shaper & his glassing is impeccable. Great guy to work with a custom board, has you over to the house & includes you in every step of the build in order to get it exactly right. We did a kind of 1 off a mini nose rider, wide template, & its a wave catching machine. I would definitely recommend getting in touch with Drew to discuss your next custom.

As much as social media sucks in most cases...I do love the surfing end of it. Glad to add this dude on IG and check out some local work. Good thread.

Drew is a stand up guy with some amazing boards. Check him out if you do the whole social media thing his boards are typically one of a kind with his see through tail blocks and amazing resin color work..... If your looking for a custom board from him let me know I am a minion for him! below is a sampling of some of his work. 39748099_1778030418960589_5498355100126543872_n.jpg 39098051_1771451246285173_8918875227983708160_n.jpg 35237557_1674098282687137_3559803327401164800_n.jpg 31306983_1627094724054160_8420245167189000192_n.jpg

He made my girlfriend a beautiful quad egg she picked up en route from Puerto rico to her home on oahu. She loved working with him a lot and the board is opening doors for her surfwise.
