I seem to recall the so-called "forecasters" calling for few than average named events in the Atlantic this season. Looking like they're as incorrect as always. I can't think of any other occupation that pays for being confidently incorrect on a consistent basis . two_atl_2d0.png

Yeah....just like all the geniuses that forecasted the 2008 collapse and the tanking of the economy post 11/9/2016. Idiots.

How about MLB? A batting average of .300 is considered to be a very good average -- 3 base hits out of every 10 times at bat. Imagine a 30% success rate at anything else? What if a musician played only 3 correct notes out of every 10 notes played? Yikes!

    Reminds me of this:

The number of variables involved in forecasting, long- or short-term, make it tough. But I'd rather have meteorologists, than not. If they weren't around, folks in NC and SC would have been enjoying a lovely day at the beach yesterday, and wondering where all the wind came from today.

Rule number one; don't watch the "weather" on television.
