    Off topic, but our kids nicknamed the outside reef break at Doheny... Cortez. Obvious to everyone not in the same realm, but I recall it when anyone brings up the real one.

    Thanks for sharing Don. LOL about that outside reef name at DoHo John. Got sucked out there a time or two but just barely broke. A great place for a Glider!

    I used to fish there in the 80's when working the sport boats out of point loma. Never seen a wave.

    I caught the DoHo Cortes once with a couple of Olympia goofballs. It was fun but the boils spooked us a little.

    A buddy of mine was one of the water safety crew, I am trying to figure a way to get a deck hand gig on the next trip (chances about zero, but got to try).
