Anyone prefer glass-ons for mid lengths?

    Ya you get it. My longboard is a glass on. I just surf to the board. It is what it is. Nobody to blame but me for a shit day. I like that.

    That's probably the best way to learn about fin positions in different conditions. Just get one of those fin screws you can unscrew with you fingers and do a bunch of trial and error.

    For me, sometimes my tastes change with the same board over time. Some boards I used to ride with the fin more back, now I ride nearly all the way up. Plus if you have a couple of different fin options, it's almost like you have a few different boards. Fin shape and placement can totally change the feel.

    You can also just ask the shaper which fin he'd use and where he'd place it in the box, then make a little mark with a knife there.
