Any Jammers interested in a vintage planer? i talked to Gene Cooper about this one since he is an aficionado and he had this to say: "Type 2 (on the badge) with an "A" code serial # is approx 1959-1960. Earlier Type 2's 1955-1958 had no Type designation on the badge. Later Type 2's(61-64) had a "C" code. The early motors with the A or C codes were made before they started farming out for the motors and cutting costs. After that they got progressively cheaper in later years. Also the molds for casting the bodies got old and worn out. That's why the early ones are bare aluminum and later ones are painted. So that's a good one you have in my opinion."

the planer is in excellent condition and comes with the original box. all things considered asking $400.

you know, i put it up on swaylocks, but let me just say that the site's interface is so counter intuitive and difficult to use.

There has been a lot of negativity posted by regular users since they changed formats a few years ago. Spammers/hacking too. But, the audience for your sale is there. Good luck. Great item!! Also see Gene Coopers contributions on the history of these machines.

yea, Sway's changed..the current 'monetized' web site pretty much sucks..and most of the OG builders who used to populate the site with some real pearls dropped out due to the increasing snark, which turned me off as well..
